Description

In Shirley stands an early 20th century red brick barn. Despite having permission to demolish, Hessleby purchased the building and looked to retain this historic architectural beauty and convert in a three bed home of the highest standard.

Design that made use of the original features and an extension that complemented, with use of timber cladding to marry up with the original timber elements. A truly amazing, fully vaulted open plan living space opening up on a private lawn via bi-fold doors and a cobbled, walled front courtyard really highlighted this buildings history.

Saving the building from demolition echoes our Four Pillars mantra by honouring our countries history and savings tonnes of embodied carbon, a true example of how Hessleby do things.

Completed 2022.
